Kunal Chettiar - Non-Registered Massage Provider
I first started working out in high school. Being a skinny, nerdy kid, I started reading articles and watching videos trying to understand how muscles work in addition to working out. After graduating, I first considered being a personal trainer because of the passion I developed for human anatomy and physiology, but I never pursued it seriously. Around the same time, I started seeing an RMT who not only helped me with my injuries but also showed me a whole new career path. Seeing how much of an impact my RMT was able to make on my life opened my eyes to a profession that previously never would have crossed my mind. The experience allowed me to work in a field closely tied to personal training, which I already knew and loved, while giving me an opportunity to help people improve their lives with further enriched knowledge.
I think the moment I knew that this was the right path for me was after treating my own grandmother. My grandma is 92, and a few years ago, she had a minor fall which caused knee pains when walking. Earlier this year, I began to treat her knee one or two times a week. After about 3 months, her knee pain and swelling were almost completely gone. Seeing her relief and joy resulting from my work was one of the most heartwarming things I have ever experienced. That’s when I became certain this was what I wanted to do.
When it comes to treatments, I believe that every person’s body is a unique puzzle with its own solution, deserving specific care for their situation. With every initial treatment, I focus on being thorough with my assessment to make sure clients are not simply treated the same as the last patient. I want to make sure every patient is heard. I enjoy working with a variety of people as it allows me to encounter a plethora of conditions and gives me the opportunity to work on various different parts of the body.
I am not as skinny as I used to be, but am still nerdy. So in my free time, I enjoy playing board games, working out, watching anime, playing soccer, and spending time with my friends and family.
