Holiday Season in Healthy Spirit and Body

Here are some helpful hints for a healthy, happy, and stress free Holiday Season:

  • Choose whole foods for your snacks as much as possible
  • Buy what you need – we eat what we have on hand, so make life easy for yourself and keep reasonable amounts of healthy food on hand to avoid over-indulging
  • If you drink alcohol, drink two cups of water to one cup of alcoholic beverage
  • Counterbalance treats with foods like green leafy vegetables, spirulina and chlorella

Supplements for extra support…

  • Essential fatty acids like Omega 3 oils help keep your heart healthy – certain seeds and nuts, and wild game are all rich in Omega-3s
  • Maca Root and herbs like Ashwaganda help even-out energy levels, improve your body’s ability to handle stress, and are highly nutritious
  • Vitamin B-complex and additional B5 support the nervous system and help your body cope with the stress of the holiday season

Nutrition for the soul and the environment

  • Relax with aromatherapy oils. Soothing scents can bring about feelings of balance, serenity and tranquility. Try a new combination, like orange and cinnamon bark
  • Be kind to yourself! Set aside time to relax, enjoy a good cup of tea, dance and sing, walk in fresh air, and enjoy holiday activities. Rejoice in the holiday spirit!
  • Head to your local thrift / antique shops for fun and unique gifts
  • Re-use old cards and paper for gift wrapping or use re-usable bags and boxes

Here’s to a blissful Holiday Season! Warm and snugly regards, Liliana Tosic – RHN
