Welcoming Amy Young, Kinesiologist!

We’re so excited to announce the newest member of our Kinesiology team at Total Therapy, Amy Young! Amy has been an integral part of Total Therapy since September 2020, where she has worn numerous Administrative hats. We’re so excited to see her transition into our Kinesiology department, where she will bring her expertise and dedication to helping others improve their overall well-being.

The Road to Kinesiology

Amy’s journey into Kinesiology was driven by her deep connection to her body as a dancer. This connection inspired her to study Kinesiology to gain a better understanding of anatomy, physiology, and the science of movement. Her goal is to utilize her unique life experiences to help others feel and move better.

Treatment Philosophy & Expectations

Amy believes that physical activity and an active lifestyle are accessible to everyone. She sees her clients as the experts of their own experiences and views her role as a supportive guide in their recovery journey.

As a result, your treatment(s) with Amy will be highly individualized and tailored to your personal movement goals. Amy will work with you to understand any barriers you’re facing and create a plan that meets your needs. She strives to get a full picture of you as a person and your lifestyle to ensure a comfortable and effective recovery journey.

Expertise & Interests

Amy is dedicated to building lasting connections with all of her clients and finds joy in transforming potentially negative relationships with physical activity into positive ones! She has a special passion for treating dancers – focusing on foot and ankle injuries – as well as individuals with neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s, MS, and spinal cord injuries. In fact, Amy has been volunteering at PARC, an accessible gym for individuals with spinal cord injuries!

Wellness Advice

Amy’s wellness advice for everyone is that physical activity should be fun, and something you look forward to! She believes that finding activities you genuinely enjoy is key to maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.
