Welcoming Paula Weinberg: Interim Physiotherapist
We’re thrilled to present Paula Weinberg, Total Therapy’s newest Interim Physiotherapist. Paula brings a wealth of experience and a passion for aiding individuals through their journey to optimal well-being, ensuring top-notch care and guidance.
What Sparked Paula’s Interest in Physiotherapy?
Growing up, Paula was profoundly influenced by her frail grandmother. This experience ignited her desire to make a positive impact on the lives of those suffering from pain and discomfort. Paula’s enthusiasm for human biology further fueled her interest in Physiotherapy, where she discovered the diverse range of clients and healthcare settings this field encompasses. What truly fascinates her is the theory and intention behind each decision within a treatment plan.
Paula firmly believes in a client-centered and holistic approach to care. She engages clients, empowering them to take an active role in their well-being. Collaboration with clients to tailor treatments to their unique needs and preferences is at the core of Paula’s practice. Paula also places a strong emphasis on incorporating other healthcare disciplines when necessary and providing clients with exercises tailored to their specific needs. She empathizes with her clients and strives to be as inclusive as possible, respecting their preferences and contexts.
Your First Appointment with Paula
Paula’s assessments always begin with a conversation, allowing clients to share their stories and contexts. She listens intently, asking probing questions to gain a comprehensive understanding of how best to support each client. Paula places great importance on understanding the client’s goals, which directly inform her proposed treatment. Physical examinations, guided movements, and hands-on components are part of Paula’s thorough assessment process. At the end of the session, Paula provides a personalized Plan of Care, reviewing her findings, educating clients about their condition, and proposing suitable Physiotherapy treatments.
A Passion for Neurological Conditions
While Paula enjoys treating a wide range of conditions, her passion lies in working with clients who have neurological conditions such as concussion, stroke, Parkinson’s, and MS. Her dedication to improving the lives of individuals facing these challenges shines through in her work.
In fact, one of the highlights of her career so far was helping a client with Ataxia take three independent steps, a significant achievement that brought joy to both the client and Paula.
Singing & Dancing & Performing, Oh My!
Outside of Physiotherapy, Paula has a strong background in the performing arts. From competitive dance (hip hop, jazz, acrobatics) and musical theatre, to concert and jazz band, to choir and a cappella, Paula has done it all!
